The Atlantic Highway

Surf, Adventure and Soul. The Atlantic Highway (A39) is more than just a road – it’s a journey through some of the UK’s most breathtaking coastal landscapes. Running from Barnstaple to Newquay, this scenic route hugs the rugged North Devon and Cornwall coast, passing through historic villages, wild moorland, and world-famous surf spots. Our first stop is in Bude and our very own Saltrock team. We first opened our store in 2014 and chose this small surf town mainly because it embodies the spirit of our brand it’s the ultimate coastal playground, soaking up the raw beauty and energy of the Atlantic Ocean and delivers the perfect mix of adrenalin and relaxation. We asked our store team for the low-down of all the best places and things to do and eat in Bude.

Meet the team

Bev (Store Manager)
I love being able to work just a stone's throw away from the beaches and open spaces, the hustle and bustle of the summer where we get to meet so many of our lovely customers their families and of course all the dogs. Although we’re one of the smaller stores, we have a small friendly team. The store is always bright, light, tidy and clean and of course, it's in one of the best locations in Cornwall!

Jamie (Supervisor
)
My favourite part of my role at Saltrock is chatting and meeting all of our customers. love their stories and their memories of Saltrock going back across the years. I've worked in many retail roles, but Saltrock customers have the best life stories.

Fi (Sales Advisor)
I really like the summer being in the town centre and being amongst everything going on. Great customer conversations and my favourite thing being the owner of 7 dogs myself is meeting all the dogs that come in for a treat.
